Not every department has a team, but they still need to look like they belong to the university. Academic branding often falls between traditional varsity lettering, which can make everything feel athletic, and neutral corporate typography, which loses the character of campus life. Its octagonal, all-caps construction carries the visual DNA of collegiate lettering without the slab serifs that usually turn the message into sports branding. University hackathons, debate tournaments, engineering challenges, robotics contests, architecture competitions and entrepreneurship events give Octin College a competitive role without turning every event into a game.
